Our Early Customers Continue to Get the Best System We Sell

2023-01-25T03:07:45+00:00

To our first customers, we have made a commitment: “You bought the first version of our system, but you will get the best system we sell.” Why? No matter how carefully we designed the first PowerBloc, some things could have been done better, shortcomings were discovered, and improvements had to wait because we needed to get to market.

The End of Magical Thinking | Building Real Products for the Real World

2023-01-23T04:27:59+00:00

In a recent New York Times article about the crypto collapse, Harvard finance professor Mihir Desai bashes the techno-utopianism and exclusive emphasis on positive outcomes that has infected American capitalism. The result of what Desai calls “Magical Thinking” has led to the latest “tech” bubble that began to deflate in 2022. At YouSolar, we are not utopians, but we are techno-optimists.

2023-01-12T02:21:02+00:00

California has been devastated by wildfires in the past years. At this time, an “atmospheric river,” a flowing column of vapour in the atmosphere, is delivering huge amounts of rain and snow to California. The result has been widespread flooding and landslides.

A New Year’s Wish: Peace with Earth | A Personal Note by Arnold Leitner, Founder and CEO

2023-01-02T04:19:10+00:00

For thousands of years, ever since we plowed the valleys of the Nile or Ganges, man has reshaped Earth. Even though man’s success was overwhelming, it was still won in one individual’s battle at a time on the frontier, protecting the herd from wild predators or fields from the river with a dam. The world seemed enormous, and building our civilization was a struggle. But in the last century, man’s triumph over nature has been absolute.

Luck Runs Out. Resilient Power Doesn’t. We Need to Prepare for More Wildfires

2023-01-11T00:20:56+00:00

The New York Times published an article this week explaining why California did not see the large wildfires it had experienced in past years, Why California’s 2022 Wildfire Season Was Unexpectedly Quiet. Wildfires have burned “only” about 362,000 acres in 2022, compared to 2.5 million acres last year and a historic 4.3 million acres in 2020.
