Last week, the YouSolar team returned from the RE+ tradeshow in Las Vegas. With a weekend to relax, recover, and reflect, we are ready to report on what we saw at the country’s largest renewable energy trade show. The show featured lavish booths of the solar panel and battery companies dominating the market.
The former Solar Power International (SPI) trade show has become RE+ to reflect the importance of batteries to the renewable energy industry and to bring other renewable energy sources and energy carriers, like hydrogen, under one roof. Solar exploded in a supernova in Las Vegas!
The PowerBloc is powerful. It is not merely a piece of hardware but a smart independent power system. DIYA is its stunningly beautiful user interface. One user interface (“UI”) designer noted that “DIYA is lightyears ahead of the competition.”
YouSolar welcomes Marcus Saye, our newest team member. Marcus, a mechanical engineer, will work on the modules and cabinets of the PowerBloc. We pay a lot of attention to the functionality and aesthetics of the PowerBloc, and Marcus will make the PowerBloc even easier to install and operate.
“The inhabitants of planet Earth are quietly conducting a gigantic environmental experiment,” wrote Wallace S. Broecker, then at Columbia University, in an article, “Unpleasant Surprises in the Greenhouse”, in the science magazine Nature in 1987. He continued: “We play Russian roulette with climate [and] no one knows what lies in the active chamber of the gun.”
The second part of YouSolar Founder and CEO Arnold Leitner speaking on This Sustainable Life just aired.
I was always an engineer at heart. As a teenager, I built and repaired model trains, all sorts of radio-controlled vehicles, mopeds, and cars. I was a regular at the local hardware store and for years, my fingernails were constantly black from engine oil.
Are you ready to step into an entire world powered by clean and sustainable energy? The highly anticipated RE+ Renewable Energy Conference coming up in mid-September is your opportunity to do so!
Global investment into clean technologies such as wind, solar power, electric vehicles and batteries is expected to hit $1.7 trillion this year according to the I.E.A., compared with just over $1 trillion in fossil fuels. For the first time, investment into solar power will surpass investments into drilling for oil.
