Women in Clean Tech | Lyla Ramos Absolutely Loves It

Clean Tech is, sadly, still a man’s world, which is why we love having Lyla Ramos as part of our team. Lyla builds our control boards, which include many very small parts. This plays to Lyla’s passions: she has always loved miniatures and getting close to things most of us walk over: fungi and mosses, which she also photographs.

Lyla grew up in Castro Valley, CA, which is backed by a small mountain range that separates the Bay Area from the Central Valley.  There she spends time on the trails in the woods seeking beauty in the small things that grow on the forest floor.

Lyla has done various jobs, including a stint with German auto parts supplier Draexlmaier where she built doors for Tesla cars made in Hayward. She says she “absolutely loves” the work she does for YouSolar. “Everyone is so communicative and shares their knowledge,” says Lyla. “I feel so valued and appreciated.”

Lyla has a lot of flexibility with her work, which allows her to fit it around her daughter’s school and sports schedules. Lyla loves running and playing basketball and walking her adorable dog, Fern.
