Today is an exciting day. After having sold and installed several 1st and 2nd generation PowerBlocs, we are now installing the first 3rd generation PowerBloc®. Another YouSolar customer will soon experience the joy of independent power: “Goodbye” to high utility bills and outages and “Hello” to clean solar energy and resilient power.

The customer is a winery in Wooden Valley, California. The PowerBloc will run vineyard pumps, the barn in the photo below, and a vacation home on the property.

Today, we are doing pre-installation. Pre-installation means the installation of all cabinets, the interconnection between the PowerBloc and the house, and the delivery of the batteries.

This independent power system will have a grid connection. However, the PowerBloc will not be grid-tied; thus, no utility permit is required.

Even though this is one of our smaller PowerBloc Generation 3 sales, this is still a mighty installation:

• Solar 32 kW
• Inverter 24 kW (30 kW for 10 seconds)
• Energy storage 110 kWh
• Supports 12.5 kW DC-DC bi-directional EV integration (2025)

The entire PowerBloc installation does not require a lift jack or special equipment; only a dolly is required.

After pre-installation, no more work is required by the solar installer, generator vendor, or electrician. The job site remains clean. The final installation involves YouSolar inserting the power conversion modules, wiring the front of the modules with click-lock connectors, and turning on the PowerBloc.
