There Is Great, and There is “PURRRfect”
A few weeks ago, we proudly showed you the Gen 3 PowerBloc. The design was great. However, we did not like that the displays, breakers, and state of charge (“SOC”) indicators were not aligned. What if we could align them?
Repositioning the breakers and SOCs on the batteries to align them with the displays required considerable engineering. Did we lose our commitment to engineering for a better look?
The PowerBloc design was great. Now it is “PURRRfect.”
The reason for the change was purely functional. The cabinets have a door with a glass panel. If the breaker and SCO aligned with the displays, then we would see the state of charge of the batteries and the position of the breakers through the panel.
Again, the form had followed function…until our graphic designer asked if we could move the SOC by one millimeter for even more symmetry! So, what did we do? We made our battery vendor redesign the chassis and move the SCO by one millimeter.
Sure, there is great, but then there is “PURRRfect.”
