The Legendary “Stanford Farmers” Invest in YouSolar

The “Farmers Investment Club” are a legendary angel group of twenty prominent professors, administrators, alumni and affiliates of Stanford University.

The Club’s name is a reference to the university’s nickname, “the farm”, which goes back to its founding on the land of Leland and Jane Stanford’s Palo Alto stock farm.

The Farmers may be Silicon Valley’s oldest angel group, going back to the 1960s and having made successful investments into companies like Intel long before the term “angel investing” was coined.

Last Monday, YouSolar founder and CEO Arnold Leitner had the opportunity to pitch our company’s story, potential and ambition to the Farmers Investment Club.

The Farmers decided to make an investment in YouSolar the next day. The investment committee stated its reason: “We find the value proposition compelling and the team to be very well-informed.”

We are delighted to have the endorsement of the Club. The expertise of its members spans the gamut of Stanford’s legendary strengths and includes top researchers in the fields of science, engineering, medicine, economics, finance, and high tech.

This investment further validates YouSolar’s technology and potential to enable the all-renewable energy future.
