Last Friday, we invited the best solar battery installation team in Northern California to YouSolar for pizza, beer, and a sneak preview of the Gen 3 PowerBloc. The two installers have been in the solar industry for 20 years. They have seen and installed every solar panel, inverter, and battery. And they loved the PowerBloc—every part of it.

In this campaign, YouSolar has successfully raised ¾ of a million dollars on StartEngine, contributing to our $3 ¼ million total. This achievement has positioned us among the Top 15 Most Funded Companies currently raising funds on the platform, a testament to our credibility and potential for growth.

This week, we received our first Gen 3 cabinet. And it is elegant and simple. The Gen 3 cabinet packs a lot of power and energy at seven feet. The two-cabinet PowerBloc® BASE™ has 70 kWh storage and 100 A of single- or three-phase power.

When an outage occurs, most residential batteries only last until the following day. Even then, they only back up critical loads. In contrast, the PowerBloc is a whole-home backup system that scales easily to meet modern homes' energy and power needs–even during extended, multi-day outages.

Four years ago, we began developing the first 100-volt rack-mounted battery. We only know of one other solar battery company with a 100-volt battery; everyone else uses 50-volt batteries. We did not stop at 100 Volts. Instead, we connected six of these 100 V batteries in services to create the BOOST™ Battery Stack that powers YouSolar’s 25-kilowatt inverter at 600 Volts. 

We are excited to give you a first look at the PowerBloc® Gen 3 cabinet currently in production at our manufacturer.

The PowerBloc® has a parallel architecture, which enables its modularity. Modularity then allows us to customize and easily scale the PowerBloc. The basic PowerBloc, the BASE™, has two cabinets, but many of our customers have six or even eight cabinets. Building a multi-cabinet system means moving many batteries and modules. Thankfully, all that is needed is a dolly. But what about the 7-foot cabinet? How do you move that?

A few weeks ago, we proudly showed you the Gen 3 PowerBloc. The design was great. However, we did not like that the displays, breakers, and state of charge (“SOC”) indicators were not aligned. What if we could align them? 

We are a small company, and the PowerBloc is a BIG SYSTEM.  So, how do you build something BIG when you are small? Super-lean manufacturing. We design almost every part of the PowerBloc, but we manufacture only a few parts in-house. All other parts are made by our suppliers in Northern California, Minnesota, Shenzhen, China, and elsewhere.
