To our first customers, we have made a commitment: “You bought the first version of our system, but you will get the best system we sell.”

Why? No matter how carefully we designed the first PowerBloc, some things could have been done better, shortcomings were discovered, and improvements had to wait because we needed to get to market.

One example is the significant noise of the fans cooling the bi-directional converter in the TWIN module. The noise of one TWIN was acceptable, but the noise of a system with eight TWINs was not.

To address the noise, we switched to a different fan that is so silent it is hard to tell if it is running. It also allowed for better cooling of the power electronics – a win-win.

So, what does a company like YouSolar do: just build these fans into new PowerBlocs going forward? No, we returned to all customers and replaced the fans in all their TWIN modules!

There are two obvious reasons for doing so. First, changing the fan made the product better. Second, our early customers trusted YouSolar, a small company without a global brand, with their power needs. And we will not disappoint them.
