Record PowerBloc Sale for $400,000

In the northern foothills of the Santa Lucia Range, the coastal mountain range towering above California’s Big Sur coast, lies the Santa Lucia Preserve. It is home to a growing collection of architecturally significant residences that have been carefully placed in the mostly pristine and protected landscape.

The Preserve is also one of the grid-challenged areas where power outages are common and it can be difficult to get sufficient utility service for powering a modern, all-electric home.

The owners of a new home on one of the Preserve’s hilltops are investing $400,000 into an independent power solution by YouSolar that will give them full resilience and peace of mind.

We worked closely with the team consisting of the architect, builder, and electrical engineer to design the optimal system for living up to the home owner’s requirements.

The PowerBloc will have 270 kWh of battery storage and will provide the power equivalent of a 500 A utility service. Paired with a 36 kW solar array, it will allow the large home to run on clean energy on most days of the year. This includes powering four electric car chargers in the garage.

This latest contract grows our order book to $1.9 million and further validates YouSolar’s position as Northern California’s premier supplier of solar-battery resilience systems.
