A long way to the customer. Already, the world needs to add or refurbish 80 million kilometers of electrical grids by 2040.

• Making all of our current electrical energy green will require a 3 to 4 times increase in renewable energy capacity.
• To replace the other 80% of the energy supply that is currently non-electric will require multiplying that new green capacity another 4 to 5 times.
• A 10-20 fold increase in clean power is a monumental task, but getting it to where and when it is needed is an entirely different challenge.
• Already, the world needs to add or refurbish 80 million kilometers of grids by 2040, the equivalent of the entire existing global grid – or enough power lines to wrap around the earth approximately 2,000 times.
