Nanogrids are unstoppable

For those who fear that battery prices will go up due to the announced 25% tariff increase on imported Chinese batteries, here is a bit of math to alleviate the stress:

A product that became 20% cheaper but is now subject to a 25% tariff costs the same.

Here is the math to prove it: $100 x 80% = $80. $80 x 125% = $100.

In fact, we are currently already paying an 11% tariff on our battery packs. So, should the tariff go up to 25%, the net increase will only be 14%. (But who is doing precise math here… :-))

The bottom line is this: YouSolar did great business last year when batteries cost us the same as they will next year. This is why we expect our business to remain unaffected by the tariff hike, and we are not losing much sleep over a 25% battery tariff. And neither should you, our investors.

Because the truth is that lithium batteries are becoming nearly as cheap as the dirt they are made of. That is why distributed battery nanogrids like the PowerBloc are unstoppable.
