A Whole New Level of Charge

Four years ago, we began developing the first 100-volt rack-mounted battery. We only know of one other solar battery company with a 100-volt battery; everyone else uses 50-volt batteries.

We did not stop at 100 Volts. Instead, we connected six of these 100 V batteries in services to create the BOOST™ Battery Stack that powers YouSolar’s 25-kilowatt inverter at 600 Volts.

Why do we go to 600 V? Because at 600 V, for the same power, cables are one hundred forty-four (144) times smaller than for a 50 V system–yes, read this again. Power electronics scale similarly. This is how an inverter with 24 kW of continuous power and 30 kW of peak power (for 10 seconds) can have a rack height of only 5.25 inches (13.3 cm).

YouSolar’s new BOOST battery has so many safety and control features that calling it a battery is an understatement. Instead, the BOOST battery should be called an energy storage system.

The new 100 V battery is now in production. It was charged at high power during a recent quality assurance test, shown in the video below.

The 100 V boost battery is only one component of the PowerBloc. Each module and battery were developed together for seamless integration and maximum performance.
